Cinco De Mayo is Spanish for “Fifth of May.” Many people mistakenly believe that Cinco De Mayo celebrates Mexico’s Independence Day (much like the Fourth of July in the U.S.). However, May 5th celebrates the Mexican Army’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. In Mexico, it’s actually not a very big holiday. In the United States and other countries throughout the world, May 5th is often used to celebrate Mexican-American culture, with an emphasis on Mexican food, drink, and music.

Cinco De Mayo
This year, take your Cinco De Mayo celebration to the next level with shaved ice or snow cones. And don’t worry, you can still stay on theme with some terrific flavors that will go along with your Cinco De Mayo fiesta.

Margarita - Margaritas are typically the go-to cocktail at a Cinco De Mayo party. Our Margarita snow cone syrup has all the delicious tangy lime flavor that you love in a margarita just without the alcohol. The beautiful bright green color looks like a traditional margarita, but the flavor is safe for all ages. With our margarita shaved ice syrup, you’ll have festive-looking treats that are cool and refreshing at your Cinco De Mayo celebration.

Horchata - If you are looking for something a little different and more traditional for your Cinco De Mayo fiesta, try our Horchata shaved ice syrup. Horchata is a drink served in Mexico, and our delicious syrup captures all the flavors you’d find if you made one yourself: creamy vanilla rice milk, zesty cinnamon, and nuts. When you pour this yummy flavored syrup over shaved ice, you get a refreshing, icy milkshake-like treat perfect for May 5th.

What do you have planned for your Cinco De Mayo celebration? Tell us about it on our Facebook page! We love to hear about how you include shaved ice and snow cones at your parties.
